For mechanics and automotive workshops
An SDS register for mechanics, sorted on your phone.
Brake cleaner, coolant, degreaser, two-part filler: a workshop holds a lot of products from a lot of brands, and each hazardous chemical needs its current SDS on the register. SupplySafe keeps the register for you, grouped by brand like your shelf, with one QR poster at the door so anyone can read every current SDS, no login.
Built for a workshop shelf
-
Grouped by brand, like your shelf
Aerosols, oils, coolants, cleaners, adhesives and panel products, from every brand you buy, in one register.
-
Areas that match your floor
Say where each product lives: workshop floor, paint bay, parts store, wash bay. Handy when someone needs the SDS fast.
-
Two-part products done properly
Fillers, epoxies and other Part A and Part B kits show as one line. Each part keeps its own SDS and review date.
-
On the phone in your pocket
Add a product or check a sheet from the bay. Signed-in staff can keep the register's SDS on their phone for reading with no signal.
-
Kept current for you
When a manufacturer revises a sheet, your register switches to the new SDS automatically and marks it as updated, so you can tell the team what changed. Sheets over 5 years since revision are flagged too.
-
A printed backup folder in one click
The register list and every current SDS, ready for the folder on the wall. "Reprint needed" tells you when an SDS changes.
One poster at the door
Print one A4 poster for the workshop and stick it where the chemicals live. Your techs, a visiting contractor or emergency services scan it and see every product on site, where it's kept, and the current SDS. No login, no app.
The QR code points to a permanent SupplySafe link, so when an SDS is replaced, the poster keeps working. Print it once.
When WorkSafe visits
Open the register on your phone or hand over the printout. You have:
- the register list, with the current SDS and its revision date for every product;
- the QR poster at the door, open to anyone with no login;
- a printed backup folder, and a "Reprint needed" flag when an SDS changes;
- an audit trail of who added what, and which revision was current at the time.
The model WHS Regulations ask you to keep a hazardous chemicals register with the current SDS for each hazardous chemical, kept up to date and readily accessible to workers and emergency services. SupplySafe gives you the register, the access and the currency. It does not decide which of your products are hazardous, and it is not a substitute for a risk assessment or professional safety advice. Check with your state or territory regulator for any local requirements.

Questions workshops ask
- Do we still need printed SDS in the workshop?
- Safe Work Australia's guidance says the register and SDS can be kept electronically, as long as workers and emergency services can get to them readily, for example by scanning a QR code with no login or app. The model Code of Practice also says to provide a backup means, such as hard copies, in case power, internet or phones fail. So we recommend keeping a printed backup folder of your current SDS alongside your SupplySafe register. SupplySafe makes it in one click and tells you when an SDS changes and it needs reprinting. The final call is the business's, so check what suits your site.
- Does every tech need an account to read an SDS?
- No. Anyone can scan the poster and read every current SDS on site, no login. Only the people who add or change products need an account, and there's no per-user fee.
- A product we use isn't in the catalogue. What then?
- Send us the PDF from your folder (hello@supplysafe.com.au) and we load it and keep it current.
- Does SupplySafe tell me which products are hazardous?
- No. The manufacturer classifies the chemical and writes the SDS. SupplySafe shows you the manufacturer's current document and the dates on it.
- We run more than one workshop. Can each have its own register?
- Yes. Each site gets its own register and its own poster, and you see every site on one page. See SupplySafe for multi-site businesses.
- What does SupplySafe cost?
- A$39 per site per month, or A$390 per site per year (two months free). No per-user fee: everyone on site can read the register. A 30-day free trial with no card needed, and you can cancel any time. Founding price: A$29 a month per site for your first 12 paid months. First 100 workplaces, start your plan by 31 March 2027. Paying yearly, it is A$290 a year per site for your first year. Manufacturers, importers and suppliers use SupplySafe free. See pricing.
- We already keep a register. How do we move across?
- Search the catalogue and tick what you hold; you can add every result of a search at once. There's no self-serve spreadsheet import yet, so send your current register to hello@supplysafe.com.au and we'll help load it. A product isn't listed? Send us the PDF from your folder (hello@supplysafe.com.au) and we load it and keep it current.
- Who keeps the SDS up to date?
- The company that issues it. Manufacturers and importers publish their current SDS on SupplySafe, free, and each one is checked against the PDF before it goes live. When they publish a revision, every register that holds the product switches to it automatically and marks the line as updated, so you can tell your team what changed. An SDS we load for you from your folder, we keep current too. SupplySafe never writes or edits an SDS.
