SDS management software
SDS management software for small Australian businesses
SupplySafe keeps your hazardous chemicals register and every current SDS in one place, with one QR poster at the door for staff and emergency services. Manufacturers publish their own SDS and keep them current. You pay A$39 per site a month, not per user.
What it does
- Build the register from a catalogue. Search by brand or product, tick what's on site and, if you like, where it's kept. Products appear grouped by brand, the way the shelf looks.
- One QR poster per site. Printed from the app. Staff and emergency services scan it and see the site's register, with a tap to the current SDS. No login, no app. The QR code points to a permanent link, so the poster keeps working when an SDS is replaced.
- Supplier updates reach you automatically. When a manufacturer publishes a revision, every register that holds the product switches to it. The line is marked as updated until someone at the site ticks it as read.
- Review dates you can trust. The five-year review clock counts from the revision date printed on the SDS, and every screen says which date it's based on.
- Needs attention, in one list. An SDS past its review date, a product with no SDS yet, or dates the publisher still has to confirm.
- A printable register. Each site has a printable hazardous chemicals register (A4, and CSV), dated, for your backup folder or an auditor.
- An audit trail. Every register change is written to an append-only audit trail that nobody can edit or delete, including us.
Who keeps the SDS current?
The company that issues it. Manufacturers, importers and suppliers publish their current SDS on SupplySafe, free, and each one is checked against the PDF before it goes live. Anything that can't be read with confidence is confirmed by a person. Nothing is guessed and the PDF is never edited.
A product isn't listed yet? Send us the PDF from your folder and we load it and keep it current. Manufacturers can see how it works on SupplySafe for manufacturers.

What the register has to do
Safe Work Australia's guidance says the register must include the current SDS for each hazardous chemical, be easy to use, and be available to workers and emergency services at any time. It can be kept electronically, with a backup in case power, internet or phones fail, so we recommend a printed backup folder alongside your SupplySafe register.

Questions about SDS management software
- What is SDS management software?
- Software that keeps a workplace's safety data sheets (SDS) in one place: a list of the hazardous chemicals on site, the current SDS for each one, and a way for workers and emergency services to open them. In Australia that list and those sheets make up the hazardous chemicals register the WHS Regulations require.
- Is SupplySafe built for small businesses?
- Yes. It's priced per site, not per user, so a small workshop pays the same however many staff read the register. Set-up takes a few minutes on a phone for a typical site, and there's a 30-day free trial with no card needed.
- Does SupplySafe write or edit our SDS?
- No. It does not write, edit, summarise or classify Safety Data Sheets. The manufacturer's document is the document. It also doesn't decide which of your products are hazardous.
- We have more than one site. How does pricing work?
- Each site has its own register and QR poster, at the same price per site, with an all-sites overview, register copying and exports. See SupplySafe for multi-site businesses.
- What does SupplySafe cost?
- A$39 per site per month, or A$390 per site per year (two months free). No per-user fee: everyone on site can read the register. A 30-day free trial with no card needed, and you can cancel any time. Founding price: A$29 a month per site for your first 12 paid months. First 100 workplaces, start your plan by 31 March 2027. Paying yearly, it is A$290 a year per site for your first year. Manufacturers, importers and suppliers use SupplySafe free. See pricing.
- Do we still need printed SDS?
- Safe Work Australia's guidance says the register and SDS can be kept electronically, as long as workers and emergency services can get to them readily. It also suggests a backup, such as hard copies, in case power, internet or phones fail. So we recommend a printed backup folder alongside your SupplySafe register. SupplySafe makes it in one click and shows "Reprint needed" when an SDS changes. The final call is the business's.
- We already keep a register. How do we move across?
- Search the catalogue and tick what you hold; you can add every result of a search at once. There's no self-serve spreadsheet import yet, so send your current register to hello@supplysafe.com.au and we'll help load it. A product isn't listed? Send us the PDF from your folder (hello@supplysafe.com.au) and we load it and keep it current.
- Who keeps the SDS up to date?
- The company that issues it. Manufacturers and importers publish their current SDS on SupplySafe, free, and each one is checked against the PDF before it goes live. When they publish a revision, every register that holds the product switches to it automatically and marks the line as updated, so you can tell your team what changed. An SDS we load for you from your folder, we keep current too. SupplySafe never writes or edits an SDS.
